Equipment for melting metals and alloys.

  • The Nebertherm K2 / 13 furnace enables the melting of non-ferrous metals as well as metals and alloys. This melting takes place at temperatures up to 1300°C in a 2-liter crucible. Electronically controlled with display of the current temperature.
  • The Termetal crucible induction furnace enables the melting of non-ferrous metals as well as metals and alloys up to a temperature of 1500°C.

Equipment for non-contact temperature measurement

Research using the pyrometric method enables non-contact temperature measurements on metallic and non-metallic materials.

  • The MX6 pyrometer is equipped with: a three-point laser sight showing the diameter of the measured surface, a CCD camera (designed to store images of the measurement site) and a K-type thermocouple. The stored photos and results can be transferred to a computer via the USB interface, and the included software facilitates the cataloging of photos and export them to other applications.
  • CYCLOPS 100 is a portable pyrometer designed for non-contact temperature measurements in the range from 550 to 3000 ° C. The narrow spectral range of the instrument: 1 mm, ensures the minimization of measurement errors resulting from changes in the object's emissivity coefficient and absorption of the atmosphere. The device is equipped with an optical sight. The value of the measured temperature can be read inside the viewfinder and on the large, external LCD display, which additionally provides information about the battery status, the value of the emissivity factor and the measurement mode.

Equipment for testing molding masses and materials

The station is equipped with basic equipment for testing molding masses and materials:

  • LpzE electromagnetic screen,
  • LSz-1 type adhesive stripping apparatus,
  • LM-2 laboratory mixer,
  • apparatus for rapid determination of the moisture content of molding sand, type LW-1,
  • laboratory compactor LU,
  • hardness tester for testing the hardness of molding sand, type LTw-C,
  • apparatus for testing the permeability of molding sand, type LPiR-1,
  • apparatus for testing the strength of molding sand, type LRu-1,
  • apparatus for testing the flaking of molding sand, type LS-1,
  • LUW-C knockout device,
  • apparatus for testing strength in the wet zone AM.FM.

Mold making equipment

The station is equipped with basic molding tools, model kits for forming a natural, split, split-core model, templates and core boxes.

Simulation of casting and solidification processes

  • NovaFlow & Solid software allows to simulate the process of pouring a gravity and pressure mold. The simulation is performed on any casting alloy. The software allows to change the material from which the casting mold was made, mold coatings, exothermic and isothermal casings. The simulation can be carried out in terms of isotherms in the casting or mold, the formation of porosity, and the cooling rate.
  • Classes are conducted in a classroom equipped with modern computers. Thanks to dual-core processors and a correspondingly large RAM memory, even complex simulations are calculated quickly.

Precision casting set

  • PAT set for precision casting with the melt method. In the process of making castings with this method, among others, the autoclaving of gypsum molds is used, which allows for making thin-walled castings with various cross-sections and with a very precise surface mapping.
